Rifaat R. Rawashdeh

Rifaat R. Rawashdeh, is a DOH licensed clinical genetic counselor, and is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling since 2011, based in Abu Dhabi- UAE. Currently working as the clinical genetic counselor in Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, with expertise in cancer genetics and genetic testing & counseling. He has over 15 years of experience in related clinical, academic and laboratory settings. In 2009, Rifaat graduated with an M.S. degree in Genetic Counseling from Sarah Lawrence College in New York. He has been practicing genetic counseling ever since, in USA, KSA and UAE. Rifaat helped in establishing the first Genetic Counseling Masters Training Program in the region, at Al Faisal University, (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia). He also played a key role in establishing and running the first genetic counseling service in Abu Dhabi at Cleveland clinic, which provides cancer and general genetic counseling. Rifaat is actively working to serve and increase genetic counseling access to the underserved Arab population.
