Dr Jonathan Harris Wide Min

Senior Manager, Point of Care Testing & Quality

Jonathan has more than 20 years’ healthcare industry experience. He transitioned to National Reference Library (NRL), when NRL were awarded the laboratory management contract for Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in 2019. Jonathan is responsible for overseeing NRL’s Point of Care Testing (POCT) programs across all facilities, including Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Jonathan joined Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi when the facility first opened in 2015 and was responsible for setting up and establishing the POCT department. He played a major role in helping the department achieve CAP accreditation within six months of opening. In 2016, the POCT program achieved ISO 22870 accreditation with the United Kingdom Accreditation Service. The first in the Middle East to obtain this challenging standard. Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi has the broadest POCT scope accredited to ISO internationally.

Prior to moving to the Middle East, Jonathan worked as a Senior Medical Scientist in the Blood Sciences department at the Hermitage Medical Clinic in Dublin for six years, his role included responsibility for POCT.

Jonathan is a regional expert in the field of POCT, he has produced several publications and is also a regular contributor to scientific conferences. Jonathan has obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology and Biochemistry from the University of Ireland, Galway, a Honors Degree in Biochemistry with the University of Wolverhampton, UK, and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland. He was also recently awarded a Master’s in Science in Leadership and Innovation in Healthcare from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Jonathan is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Laboratory Science in Ireland.
