Dr. Tarek Ansari, a fellow of the Faculty of Anaesthetists (RCSI, 1993), is an experienced anaesthetist who trained in Egypt, Kuwait, and the UK after graduating from Alexandria Faculty of Medicine. Since joining Corniche Hospital, Abu Dhabi, in 1996 and becoming Chair of Anesthesia in 2004, he has transformed its Obstetric Anesthesia Department into a regional center. He introduced evidence-based practices such as ultrasound-guided neuraxial blocks, cell salvage, and point-of-care hemostatic monitoring. He also established Quadratus lumborum blocks as integral component of multimodal postoperative analgesia.
Dr. Ansari lead the implementation of Corniche hospital Patient Blood Management program that markedly reduced the incidence of anemia and the need for blood transfusions.
Dr. Ansari has published widely and lectures nationally and internationally.
