Dr. Hemad Yasaei is Director of Clinical Research & Development and Director of Molecular Diagnostics & Genomics at the National Reference Laboratory (M42), Abu Dhabi. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Khalifa University. He holds a PhD in Cancer Genetics from Brunel University London and has more than 15 years' experience in cancer genetics, clinical genomics and molecular diagnostics. Since 2023 he has led the launch of more than 30 in-house molecular and genomic assays at NRL. These include MSK-IMPACT™ comprehensive genomic profiling, haematological malignancy NGS panels and clinical exome sequencing. He previously led the Dubai Genetics Center at the Dubai Health Authority. Dr Yasaei is a College of American Pathologists Inspection Team Leader, a DOH licensing examiner and an ADEK external reviewer. His research focuses on telomere biology and UAE population genomics.
