Troponin testing is offered by NRL but is not appropriate for use in non-acute healthcare facilities. If a patient is suspected of having acute myocardial infarction (“heart attack”) or acute coronary syndrome (ACS), they must be referred to an Emergency Department immediately for appropriate investigation and management.
