Patient Preparation

No special preparation is required for this test. You may eat, drink, and take your medications as normal, unless instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider.

Collection

Plasma must be removed from whole blood within 30 minutes ofcollection using the following protocol: Centrifuge is pre-set to 1,600g/3,380 RPM for 10 minutes 1. Centrifuge whole blood and collect top 2/3 of Plasma intoa new tube using a transfer pipet. 2. Centrifuge Plasma a second time and collect Plasma above pellet into a new tube using a transfer pipet. 3. Centrifuge this Plasma a third time and collect Plasma above pellet into a new tube using a transfer pipet. 4. Centrifuge Plasma a final time and collect Plasma above pellet into a new transport tube using a transfer pipet. 5. Freeze immediately and ship on dry ice.
