Liver–kidney microsomal (LKM) antibodies detected by indirect immunofluorescence (IFA) support the diagnosis of Autoimmune Hepatitis Type 2, particularly in children and young adults. Their presence helps distinguish this condition from other autoimmune or viral liver diseases, including Hepatitis C, when interpreted alongside liver enzymes (NRL Code: 19010), immunoglobulin levels (NRL Code: 14426), and clinical findings.
