Helps diagnose pemphigus, a group of autoimmune blistering diseases. Desmoglein 1 and 3 are adhesion proteins in the epidermis, and the presence of specific antibodies helps differentiate between pemphigus vulgaris and pemphigus foliaceus, guiding diagnosis and treatment.
