Cytogenetic test for detecting chromosomal abnormalities. Used in prenatal and cancer diagnostics.

Peripheral Blood sample (Whole Blood well-mixed to prevent clotting)

Volume

5 mL (For infant a minimum of 2 mL)

Sodium heparin/Lithium Heparin

No special preparation is required for this test. You may eat, drink, and take your medications as normal, unless instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider.
