Measures the total amount of bilirubin (both direct/conjugated and indirect/unconjugated) in the blood.
Used to assess liver function, bile metabolism, and Haemolysis. Elevated total bilirubin may indicate: Liver diseases (hepatitis, cirrhosis) Biliary obstruction (gallstones, tumors) Hemolytic conditions (hemolytic anemia, sickle cell disease) Neonatal jaundice (common in newborns)
