Test Overview

"The Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP) measures key biomarkers to evaluate kidney and liver function, electrolyte and fluid balance, bone health and (random) blood sugar levels. It is widely used to screen for underlying conditions, diagnose symptoms, and monitor medication side effects or disease progression.

Test Includes: Fasting Glucose, Creatinine, BUN, BUN/Creatinine Ratio, Sodium, Potassium, Chloride, Bicarbonate (Total CO2), Total Calcium.

Results will be reported in conventional units (mass/vol e.g. mg/dL)."

Collection

This test does not require any special collection or pre-analytical handling. Follow routine specimen collection protocols.
