The ASCA IgA/IgG profile is used as an adjunctive test in the evaluation of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), supporting the diagnosis of Crohn’s disease and aiding differentiation from ulcerative colitis when clinical and diagnostic findings are inconclusive.
Serum or Plasma
Minimum 0.5 mL
Serum (SST; Gold Top or plain serum; Red Top) - Preferred EDTA Plasma (Lavender top); Lithium Heparin Plasma (Green Top); Citrate plasma (Light blue top) - acceptable
No special preparation is required for this test. You may eat, drink, and take your medications as normal, unless instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider.
This test does not require any special collection or pre-analytical handling. Follow routine specimen collection protocols.
