Four serial aldosterone measurements, potentially part of a diurnal or positional study. This could track aldosterone throughout the day or under various maneuvers. It is used to characterize abnormal aldosterone regulation, for instance, sustained high levels in multiple positions/times strengthen the evidence for autonomous aldosterone production (primary aldosteronism).

No special preparation is required for this test. You may eat, drink, and take your medications as normal, unless instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider.
This test does not require any special collection or pre-analytical handling. Follow routine specimen collection protocols.
