Thyroid Fine Needle Aspirate (FNA) biopsy

RNA Retain(R) vial, available in LabCorp FNA kits. Contact Technical Support for the special kits
No special preparation is required for this test. You may eat, drink, and take your medications as normal, unless instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider.
After each pass is placed on the slide or cytolyt, immediately add remaining thyroid cells to RNA Retain(R) vial, washing only the needle one to two times (do not wash the syringe chamber). Repeat this process with remaining pass collections. Screw top on vial, and label with patient name and source location. Invert closed vial two to three times.
