Patient Preparation

No special preparation is required for this test. You may eat, drink, and take your medications as normal, unless instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider.

Collection

Collect into chilled or prefrozen plastic lavender-top (EDTA) tube, noting the time of collection. After venipuncture, immediately invert tube several times to ensure complete mixture. Separate Plasma from cells by centrifugation. Separate Plasma into a plastic vial, and freeze within 15 minutes of collection
