FISH panel detecting chromosomal changes in MPN and CML.

Specimen Type

Bone Marrow, fixed-cell pellet from a cytogenetic analysis Slides with metaphases and/or interphase nuclei for each metaphase and/or interphase nuclei for each probe indicated CSF FNA Bone Marrow Touch Prep Slides  

Volume

3 mL bone marrow (For additional cytogenetic studies an additional 1 mL of bone marrow is required.), fixed-cell pellet, three slides

Specimen Container

Green-top (heparin) tube, pediatric Vacutainer® is optimal or lavender-top (EDTA) tube

Patient Preparation

No special preparation is required for this test. You may eat, drink, and take your medications as normal, unless instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider.
