Patient Preparation

No special preparation is required for this test. You may eat, drink, and take your medications as normal, unless instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider.

Collection

Collect Serum AND CSF at the same time. Avoid contaminating CSF with blood. Centrifuge CSF at 1500xg for 20 minutes and place the supernatant into separate tubes. Ensure residual fibrin and cellular matter have been removed.
