Methodology

Real-time PCR – Biocartis Idylla™

Remarks

Tumor Cell Content:
FFPE or tissue samples with tumor cell content below the minimum threshold for accurate testing (<10%).
Extracted DNA derived from insufficient tumor material. Improper Fixation or Processing (For Tissue Samples):
Tissue samples fixed in inappropriate fixatives (e.g., alcohol) instead of formalin.
Over-fixed or under-fixed tissues resulting in poor nucleic acid preservation. Sample Integrity Issues:
Tissue samples that are visibly damaged, contaminated, or improperly labeled.
Extracted DNA that is mislabeled, degraded, or contaminated. Previous Test Exhaustion:
Insufficient residual DNA for retesting or samples already tested unsuccessfully.

Performing Location

Accredited NRL Laboratory

Test Overview

Gliomas, AML/myeloid neoplasms, chondrosarcomas, and other tumors where IDH mutational status influences diagnosis, prognosis, or therapeutic selection

Specimen Type

Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded tissue block (preferred), Extracted DNA

Volume

2 scrolls or 5 unstained slides (5 μm) in sterile container with matching H&E slide, Extracted DNA (>50 ng)

Specimen Container

FFPE tissue block and slide container

Patient Preparation

No special preparation is required for this test. You may eat, drink, and take your medications as normal, unless instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider.

Collection

This test does not require any special collection or pre-analytical handling. Follow routine specimen collection protocols.
