Collect urine in a dark botlle preserved by adding 5 mL of glacial acetic acid to the container before collection. Unpreserved urine samples may lose up to 40% of their glucose after 24 hour storage at room temperature

Patient Preparation

No special preparation is required for this test. You may eat, drink, and take your medications as normal, unless instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider.
