Methodology

Total amylase: enzymatic, pancreatic and salivary amylase: salivary amylase is inhibited by specific antibodies and the remaining pancreatic amylase is determined by an enzymatic, colorimetric method. Salivary amylase is calculated as the difference between the total and pancreatic amylase.
