Dr. Mahmoud Taleb Al Ali PhD

Dr. Mahmoud Taleb Al Ali is Senior Executive Advisor at National Reference Laboratory (NRL) and Amana Healthcare, a Mubadala Health partner.
In addition to his work at NRL and Amana Healthcare, Dr. Mahmoud is Director of the Centre for Arab Genomic Studies, Executive Director of HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Humanitarian and Scientific Foundation and Secretary General of the Sultan Bin Khalifa International Thalassemia Award. He has taught at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at UAE University since 2001.
Dr. Mahmoud’s past positions include, Consultant Geneticist and Director of Dubai Genetics Centre, Head of Pathology and Genetics Services at Dubai Health Authority, Project leader and Director at the Dubai Cord Blood and Stem Cell Centre, DHA; Executive Committee and Founding Member of Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park; Assistant Director of Al Wasl Hospital for Clinical Support Services; President of Emirates Thalassemia Society; and Head of Federal Laboratories at UAE Ministry of Health. He has received numerous prestigious national and international awards, published over 75 peer-reviewed scientific papers, and chaired over 25 international conferences and events.
A UAE National, Dr. Mahmoud holds a PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University College London Medical School, UK and a BSc in Clinical Laboratory Science from UAS.
